Scotland’s Artists – Silent Auction for Syria

SCOTS ART 1

We have all seen the devastating effect the war has had on Syria and its refugees, the images of children being washed up on the shores and the anguish family’s are going through everyday. We all want to help in someway…

I have called on some of Scotland’s most prestigious designers and artists to contribute a piece to a silent auction in a bid to raise funds to support the Syrian Refugee Appeal.

All of the designers involved in the event have agreed to submit a piece of their own work, each designer will reach out to client’s family and friends to invite them to the auction open evening so collectively we can raise as much as possible and try and make a difference through our creative fields.

McQueen of Scots

Solus Production recently released their documentary about the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen.  The 1 hour programme looks at how McQueen’s Skye connections influenced his work.  This fascinating subject has so far taken Solus to London, New York and of course Skye. JUDY met with the film crew in her Edinburgh studio to share her memories of working in the design house

Wimbledon Jacket

Judy Murray Wimbledon Jacket

Here is a look at the jacket we made for Judy Murray’s Wimbledon occasions. The weather on centre court probably proves to warm for our coat but we like to think the Judy wears it with style to different events.

The coat is made using a  green and tartan cool wool in the Wimbledon colours using fabric from Scottish mill Calzeat Textiles and lined with a purple silk.

Wishing Andy Murray the best of luck today, doing Scotland proud!

Belle Armoire Magazine

A snippet of our 10 page feature in Bell Armoire Magazine where Judy talks about her life, work and career as a fashion designer.

“In our house as children we always sat ‘round the table with crayons and pencils, clay, glitter pens — anything we could get our hands on. It was a creative kitchen where my sisters and I were encouraged to get our hands dirty and have some fun,” Judy remembers. It’s still the site of much creative brainstorming. “My kitchen table is one of my favourite places to be. The table has been the same since we were tiny tots standing underneath it. It’s a table full of memories, from the creative arty days, baking days, weird boyfriend days, and now the days of chatting about our different lives, creative paths, the good times, and the wine times!”

Thanks to all involved in the various photo-shoots used throughout the magazine. x
