Born To Shop – Save The Children

This September to coincide with London Fashion Week and Vodafone Fashion Weekend, Save
the Children launch
Born to Shop –  it is  the UK’s biggest ever on-line designer fashion auction.

The sale, which starts today , features a host of designer donations from brands such as Alexander McQueen, Temperly London, Nichole Farhi and my own label Judy R Clark

Erin O’conner is fronting the campaign, the supermodel is the official ambassador for the Bid Boutique – the charity’s first ever fashion auction supported by the British Fashion Council.

The items have just been launched so get involved. You can get bidding for one of my unique Harris Tweed Jacket by clicking HERE!

A few of my Scottish colleagues are also involved which include William Chambers, Rosie Sugden and Bebaroque.

Follow the #bidboutique tweets on Twitter. Auction runs from today  September 15th – September 23rd.

The cause is so worth while, you can read a bit about it below.

In 2011 Save
the Children launched their No Child Born to Die campaign aimed at curtailing
the shockingly high numbers of young children dying of preventable causes –
like pneumonia and diarrhoea – around the globe.
The campaign has already achieved huge breakthroughs. Last year, they inspired a massive new
investment in vaccines that will save 4 million children’s lives by 2015 and
secured commitments to train and equip more health workers so more kids can see
a doctor or nurse when they need to.

Every bit counts! x

Scottish Fashion Awards 2012

All at Spencer Clothing are delighted to be short listed at the prestigious Scottish Fashion Awards this year. Colin and I have worked hard to produce a fresh new commercial brand designed in Scotland.
Only launching in January this year we are honoured to be up there with some of the best names in the industry.

I noted a wealth of the SFA talent, from graduates to designers, have all been down to good old Galashiels to study at Heriot Watt University where I once studied myself, a great university which is sending the Scottish fashion elite out in force!

Congratulations to all the nominees, looking forward to seeing you all on the red carpet!

Twelve exhibitors have been selected by an
international panel of fashion and textiles experts to take part in
Scotland:Redesigned, a new industry led initiative aimed at championing Scotland’s

with pearl embroidery and layers of lace.

Milan – Fashion diary in pictures.

This week I  was invited along to  Milan to give a presentation about my Ford Car Dress as part of the launch of Fords new B-MAX car. It has been quite the head turner in Italy and I was delighted to represent my design there. You can read an article about it on  The Herald website and for now I will just share some pictures. The shops, shades, fur jackets and architecture were fabulous!

Wanted to buy the white pair left side second from the back, love!

Fabrizio De’ Marinis

I got chatting to Fabrizio as in passing I complimented him on his Harris Tweed jacket. He approached me later to ask more about the cloth so I told him my story. Turns out he is a successful journalist and author. He kindly invited me for a Tuscan dinner,..raw meat and red wine, was quite delicious!  He is looking for another Harris Tweed jacket in the same rougher quality as the one he was wearing which he purchased forty years ago. Loved a bit of the tweed chat in Italy.

Stubbled across famous author  Dominique Lapierre. A  whole troop of paparazzi  were following him. As I flicked through the fashion magazine I took my chance to take his picture. On Google I  later found out about his really fascinating, inspirational  travelling life.

Also a little reminder that you can vote for Judy Clark as ‘Best New Designer’ at the Scottish Variety Awards by clicking here!

It takes less than 2mins..thank you to everyone who has taken the time to vote already x

WASP – Open studios Edinburgh

Artwork – Christine Clark

Open studios this weekend, the 1st and 2nd of
October.

Come and have a nosey.. I have just been and some of the work is beautiful.

You can wander around the studios and see work from artist from various mediums.
It’s not often you get to see ‘behind the scenes’ so get your skates on and who
knows maybe pick up some art work. Plus there is plenty tea and cake!.

The studios are down the lane beside Good Seed Bistro on Dalry Road, make a day of it and stop in for some lunch.
