Katy (of Hoop&Bone) is a self taught embroidery artist who lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her embroidery pieces are individually designed from sketches and hand stitched onto a variety of materials, from silk and velvet to linen. Katy took up embroidery just over five years ago by total chance, and has become seriously addicted since. Using a technique called thread painting Katy tends to stitch as she would paint or draw, so no two pieces are ever the same. Her passion for sustainability within the fashion industry and desire to play a role in reducing textile waste has influenced a small latest collection of hand embroidered clothing.
